"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages."
-William Shakespeare's "As You Like It", Act II Scene VII
"Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" is a tragicomedy written by Tom Stoppard in 1964. Taking heavy inspiration from "Waiting for Godot," written by Samuel Beckett, the play is highly absurdist and meta-theatrical. The plot features the titular characters, previously introduced as minor characters in William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," as they question the circumstances that eventually lead them to their deaths.
